The first steel of this shipbuilding project was cut today at Bay 1 of LSE’s shipyard in Jalan Rancha-Rancha, Labuan. This momentous ceremony signifies the start of the construction phase for the 24-metre all-rounder 360 tugboat (AR360T). The construction of this tug is expected to be completed in 12 months.

Present to officiate the steel cut using LSE’s CNC automated metal sheet cutting machine was Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Khamdi Khalip. In adhering to the health & safety SOP, only key personnel from the project management team were present to witness this occasion. LSE is equipped with 2 units of CNC laser cutting machines that can cut steel of up to 150 mm in thickness.

Previously completed tugboat construction projects include three (3) units of tugboats for Bintulu Port.
